The Seeker
Let's get a little deep today and talk about my man Alan Watts. A former Catholic priest turned Eastern philosophical guru he was, in my opinion, a Seeker through and through. The seeker is one who does not settle, rather, they are always amidst the quest of looking for something that scratches whatever itch has got its hold of them. Congruently the seeker is also receptive to forces around them making their experience both passive and active.
Now let's take that into the parallel of today's sales professional. The best sellers are constantly seeking something out be it portfolio development or skill-based advantages. They both actively pursue these and passively acknowledge what faces them. Much like Alan Watts' lifelong pursuit of spiritual connectedness, a solidly focused seller is constantly seeking something. And if, dear sales professional, you can drop a little Alan Watts knowledge on an open-minded customer your 'interesting' factor exponentially grows and gives you that competitive advantage.
Stoked!
