And On the Seventh Day...
Check out this quote by Abraham Heschel, "Six days a week we seek to dominate the world, on the seventh day we try to dominate the self." The context is a call to observe Sabbath in Jewish/Christian cultures, but just try and argue the relevance of this to even the non-secular. Can't do it.
Okay pro sellers are hustlers by nature understanding hard work and effort equals positive results. Pro sellers also understand minutia and the need to keep hustling day in and day out because minutia in a pipeline constantly means opportunities to open and close deals. To give up a day to 'dominate the self' is loaded and for me to expound upon it would be too long for a short post format like this, but you can read between the lines here. Pro sellers need to hang it up every once in a while, maybe even one full day a week, as Heschel argues for, and get a little self-help break. Calm the mind, connect with your spiritual side, delight in the fruits of your labor, your family, your blessings.
Get away from your own 'self' for even a short bit of time and realize that, get ready, you aren't as important as you think you are. Six days of charging can make you feel pretty darn special especially when you're killing it, but you are more than that and you need some time to deflate.
So challenge on?
